Student Travel Award Opportunity!

The AFS Journals are always in need of volunteers to serve as manuscript reviewers, and serving as a reviewer is an excellent way for students to learn the intricacies of scientific writing. If you are interested in becoming a student reviewer, for an AFS journal, click here.
Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI) Student travel and membership award opportunity!
Applications Due March 31st.
FSBI Membership Grants: To apply for the FSBI membership grant, which covers the cost of FSBI membership for three years, applicants must submit a short letter of interest and resume to the American Fisheries Society (AFS) International Fisheries Society (IFS) Exchange Coordinator. A committee will review and screen all applications. We are currently targeting upper division and graduate students, current collaborators with an interest in international fish resources, AFS/IFS members, and emerging young professionals. We nominate up to three new membership grants a year to the FSBI.
Travel Grant: To also apply for the travel grant, which provides travel support to attend the FSBI Annual Meeting, please submit a short letter of interest, resume and travel budget (i.e., airfare and ground transportation, lodging and per diem, to the IFS Exchange Coordinator, Katherine Smith. Please show any supporting funds you may have from other sources. Meeting registration and lodging will be provided by the FSBI. Applicants should have graduate or upper division status working on any topic related to international fisheries. The applicant can be located anywhere but must be an AFS member. Presentation of a paper, poster, or invited talk is up to FSBI program committee. A meeting travel report suitable for including in the FSBI newsletter and IFS website is expected to be submitted to both the grant and host society by the award winner.

AFS/Sea Grant Outstanding Student Presentation Award and AFS Outstanding Student Poster Award
Annual Meeting, Minneapolis, Minnesota
These awards are given to students who present the best student paper and poster at the annual meeting of AFS. Students receive a plaque and a monetary award, and are recognized by AFS. All student presenters are eligible for this award. After each annual meeting, students receive valuable feedback about their presentations from their peers.
