Rob Simmonds has been the Project Leader for the U.S. Fish and WildlifeService - Carterville National Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office forthe past 4 years. In addition, since April 2008, he has also served asthe Interim Coordinator for the Ohio River Basin Fish HabitatPartnership. He received a B.S. in Fish and Wildlife Management fromLake Superior State University and an M.S. in Fish and Wildlife Ecologyfrom Oklahoma State University. He has since worked on the Rio Grandein Texas, the James River in Virginia, the Colorado River in Arizona,and most recently on the Illinois, Mississippi, and Ohio rivers. In hiscurrent position as Project Leader, he oversees the work of his officeon Asian carps, pallid sturgeon, and habitat conservation andrestoration. As the Interim Coordinator for the Ohio River Basin FishHabitat Partnership, he is working with a diverse group of individualsfrom across the basin to develop a strategic plan, complete a habitatassessment, and complete other tasks necessary to become a fullyrecognized partnership under the National Fish Habitat Action Plan, andmore importantly, to more effectively move the needle for aquaticresources in the Ohio River Basin. |
