Lizhu Wang is the director and an adjunct associate professor at the Institute for Fisheries Research and University of Michigan. He got his MS. and Ph.D. from Montana State University in fisheries and aquatic ecology. His main research interest is evaluating influences of natural and anthropogenic environmental factors on stream/lake water quality, physical habitat, and biological communities; modeling relationships among hydrology, thermal, landscape, land-use, channel morphology, and biota; developing tools for and conducting stream/lake system classification, fisheries management evaluation, and environmental impairment assessment. He has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Presently, he is heavily involved in the development of GIS database and classification of lakes for the Midwest Glacial Lakes Partnership, national fish habitat assessment, and review of Great Lakes nearshore and large river fish habitat assessment.
