        Teaming With Wildlife (TWW) is a national campaign to help prevent species of wildlife from becoming endangered and to help nuture new wildlife by giving funding to state-level nongame wildlife conservation and related recreational and educational programs.  Over 3,000 businesses and organizations support and officially endorse Teaming With Wildlife.

2011 Legislative Priorities:
  • 1. Conservation Funding
  • A. Indiana Heritage Trust (IHT) - INCA requested $750,000 per year in general fund appropriations in the bill. 
  • B. Clean Water Indiana (CWI)-  INCA requested $500,000/year from the general fund and cigaratte tax dedicated funding. Bill passed. SUCCESS!
  • 2. Restricting Phosphorous in Lawn Fertilizers - House Bill 1425
  • 3. Sustainable Natural Resources Task Force - Senate Bill 375. Bill passed. SUCCESS!
  • 4. Property-Assessed Clean Energy Bonds (PACE)- Senate Bill 260/House Bill 1457
2010 Legislative Priorities:
  • Reauthorization of the Lakes Management Work Group
  • Passage of a renewable electricity standard in Indiana
  • Passage of a resolution to limit phosphorous in lawn fertilizer
Major strides in 2009:

Apprentice Hunting License (HB 1046)

  • Passed through Indiana General Assembly and signed by Gov. Daniels 2/27/2008

  • Authored by: Representative Bischoff

  • Coauthored by: Representative Leonard

  • Sponsored by: Senators Jackman and R. Young

  • Cosponsored by: Lewis, Walker, Charbonneau and Nugent

  • Allows youth to hunt under the mentorship of a licensed adult.

  • Provides an avenue for a "trial run" for those who want to try hunting first, prior to completing a hunter education course

  • Increases Indiana's share of federal matching dollars.

Passage of the Great Lakes Water Resources Compact (SB 45)

  • Passed through Indiana General Assembly and signed by Gov. Daniels 2/20/08.
  • This bill will prevent diversions of water from the Great Lakes Basin 
  • The agreement with all 8 Great Lakes States, plus Ontario and Quebec, will set up water use monitoring and decision-making processes for future uses.
