| This year we will be
trying something a little different to increase the interaction between
Students and Professionals. We have gathered some great items for
a drawing that will be held during the evening social. The only
thing is you can't buy tickets. When you check in to get your
registration packet we will give all Students a few
RED tickets and all Professionals a few
BLUE tickets. To sign up for
the drawing its simple, Students can only turn in
BLUE tickets and Professionals can only
turn in RED tickets. Now for a
student to "earn" BLUE
tickets they must ask any Professional about their job (e.g. what
research are they involved in?, what type of sampling do they do?, what
are their major responsibilities at the Hatchery?, etc...). Likewise,
Professionals can "earn" RED tickets
from the students by asking them questions about their career path (e.g. what internships have you had?, what research have you been
involved with?, etc...). We will also be asking students and
professionals to approach those they don't already know! Tickets
can be exchanged at any time during the conference but the best time
will be right after dinner during the social. Oh, and we will
limit everyone to three tickets each.
